"One of my proudest moments"

I don't like to brag about anything.I believe its a jinx.But the year that I won "Rookie Of The Year" at Texhoma Motorplex is the one achievement that I am proudest of.I am assuming that its because I literally earned it...with BLOOD,SWEAT,and many,many TEARS! It was our first full season with the Camaro and the whole team worked our tails off.Whether it was the heat or the competition,there wasn't much that would knock us down for too long.We learned quick to pick ourselves up & dust ourselves off....and,fortunately,in the end it paid off. Besides winning the "rookie" award,I also finished 3rd in points that year.

KINDERGARTEN LESSONS

Most of what I really need to know about how to live and what to do and how to be,I learned in kindergarten....
These are the things I learned...Share everything.Play fair.Don't hit people.Put things back where you found them.Clean up your own mess.Don't take things that aren't yours.Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.Wash your hands before you eat.Flush.Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.Live a balanced life.Learn some and think some.Draw and paint and sing and dance and work everyday.
Take a nap every afternoon.When you go out into the world,watch for traffic,hold hands and stick together.Remember the little seed in the plastic cup?The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why,but we are all like that.
Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the seed in the plastic cup--they all die.So do we.
And then remember the book about Dick & Jane,and the first word you learned,the biggest word of all....LOOK.Everything you need to know is in there somewhere.The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation.Ecology and politics and even sane living.
Think of what a better world it would be if we all-the whole world-had cookies & milk every afternoon right before we laid down with our blankets for a nap.Or if we had a basic policy for all nations to always put things back where we found them and clean up our own messes.And it is still true,no matter how old we are,when you go out into the world,it really is better to hold hands and always stick together

BEFORE I WAS A MOM.....

Before I was a mom,I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I stayed up at night.I brushed my hair & teeth everyday.
Before I was a mom,I cleaned my house everyday.I never tripped over toys and I never forgot the words to a lullaby.I never worried whether or not my plants were poisonous.I never thought about routine immunizations.
Before I was a mom,I had never been puked on...pooped on...spit on...chewed on...or peed on.I had complete control of my mind & my thoughts.I could sleep all night through.
Before I was a mom,I never had to hold down a screaming child so that a doctor could do a test,or give shots.I never looked into teary eyes that made me cry as well.I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.I never sat up late hours at night just to watch a baby sleep.
Before I was a mom,I didn't know the feeling of having my heart on the outside of my body,exposed to all.I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.I didn't know that the bond between mother & child could be so intense.I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important & needed.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so many different feelings before I was a mom...I never knew I could love so unconditionally.I never knew the warmth,the joy,the love,the heartache,the wonderment or satisfaction of being a mom before.
I never knew I would love being a mom.

MURPHY'S LAWS:(They make sense even though we don't like to admit it)

1.Nothing is as easy as it looks.
2.Everthing takes longer than you think it will.
3.In any field of endeavor,anything that can go wrong will go wrong at the worst possible moment.
4.If there is a possibilty that several thigs can go wrong,then the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to happen.
5.If anything absolutely can NOT go wrong,it will anyway.
6.If you perceive that there are only 4 possible ways in which something could go wrong,then a 5th way,unprepared for,will promptly develop.
7.When left to themselves,things tend to go from bad to worse.
8.If everything seems to be going well,you've obviously over-looked something.
9.Nature always sides with the hidden flaw.

"I AM"

I am a daughter,a sister,a niece,a MOTHER, and a friend. I am a partner and WIFE;a young girl and a grown WOMAN. I am confident and scared,terrified and EXCITED. I am loving and CARING and thoughtful and hopeful. I am sick and tired. I am SHY and friendly. I am careful,careless,and CAREFREE. I am broken and whole. I am MISUNDERSTOOD,misguided and misled. I am hard working and determined,but I'm a little SCARED on the inside. I wish on stars and BELIEVE in dreams. I smile on the outside while I'm DYING on the inside. I listen to others that won't listen to me. I believe in PASSION and true LOVE.
I love you and I PUSH you away. I want you...but not so CLOSE. I am everything and I am NOTHING all at once....and all I want is for you to LOVE ME.

A MOM'S LIFE....

Take your plate to the kitchen,please.
Take it downstairs when you go.
Don't leave it there,take it upstairs.

Someone left their shoes in the middle of the floor.
Get the toys out of the hall.Get the toys off of the stairs.
Do you realize that could kill someone?
Hurry up.

I'll count to 10 and then we're going without you.

You better go now because we're not stopping.
I mean it!

Watch it!

Just eat a few more bites.
You don't always get what you want.
Thats life.
Don't argue with me.
I'm not discussing this anymore.
Go to your room.
Stop slamming doors.

Where did all the cookies go?
